Ronda Rousey hints at WWE return and says she wants to wrestle with Rhea Ripley

Ronda Rousey has given an update on her likely return date to WWE – and confirms one star she's keen to wrestle with when she does come back.

The UFC great, dubbed The Baddest Woman on the Planet by the wrestling company, has not wrestled since WrestleMania 35 some two years ago.

Rousey called a halt her brief but impressive run, citing plans to start a family with partner, Travis Browne.

Despite the time that's passed since that last outing, a triple-threat match with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, speculation is always rife as to when the 34-year-old will be back.

Rousey, who joined WWE and made her debut at the Royal Rumble in 2018, recently appeared on TableTalk, fronted by former wrestler D-Von Dudley where the subject of her return was raised.

The former Raw Women's Champion was typically playful, teasing that she'd waited for her appearance on the show to announce news of her return, before cheekily saying simply that she'd be back "when she felt like it".

“I don’t know," she shrugged. "When I feel like it… eventually, when I feel like. I don’t know.”

Rousey's general comments during the interview did seem to suggest it is a case of when rather than if she would be back in a WWE ring.

That's a sentiment echoed by WWE President Nick Khan who recently said in an interview that Ronda was "going to be coming back at a certain point in time".

The former judo starlet went one further when chatting WWE in general and even discussed who she'd like to face when she does eventually head back to wrestling.

With Becky Lynch also set to return soon, Charlotte Flair still very much at the top of the women's division and two new champions crowned at WrestleMania last week, there is choice aplenty.

Rousey stated it was new Raw champ Rhea Ripley who has caught her eye, saying: "I would love to work with Rhea Ripley.

"I feel like I would be able to do some really good stuff with her.

"When I work with somebody, I think 'what is that I can do only with them and they could do only with me?'

"I try to think of one thing that we could do that's entirely unique to our match, that only we could do.

"There's a lot of things like that for me and Rhea, but Bianca [Belair], too, they're both really strong chicks.

"I'm so glad there are so many new faces and so much new blood coming into the division as well."
