Motorcyclist dies after car crash in Aurora

A female motorcyclist died Friday evening after being struck by a car in Aurora, according to police.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and Honda Pilot at South Aurora Parkway and East Arapahoe Road. Their initial investigation found that the driver in the Honda made a left turn from westbound Arapahoe Road and failed to yield to the motorcycle’s right of way.

The motorcycle driver, who has not yet been identified, “tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” police said. The other driver was treated for minor injuries.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested or charged, they said.

Another fatal car crash Friday night in Aurora killed an off duty police officer. That officer has not been identified.
