Michael Barrymore quizzed again by cops over Stuart Lubbock’s death in his swimming pool 20 years ago

MICHAEL Barrymore has been quizzed again over Stuart Lubbock’s death in his swimming pool 20 years ago.

The development comes as carers told Stuart’s cancer-stricken dad Terry, 76, that he has just days to live.

He was still praying for a breakthrough on the case in his final days, after his calls last week for another inquest.

Barrymore, 68, is one of eight revellers police believe hold the key to solving the sexual assault and murder of dad-of-two Stuart at a party in Roydon, Essex, in 2001.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Stuart’s murder last month but later released.

Stuart’s ex-wife Sue Homan, 47, said: “Terry is still positive we will get justice.

“The police have good evidence.

"I think things are going to go further.”

Ex-Strike It Lucky host Barrymore was arrested in 2007 but never charged with any offence.

It is thought he met Essex Police officers last week.

His ex-agent, Mike Browne, said: “The police asked us if we had anything new that might have come to mind in the last 20 years but we don’t.

"Everything we know we’ve said.

“We both just want this to be resolved for everyone’s sake.”
