Football fans going to the Broncos game on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High will have to wear a COVID-19 face mask at indoor spaces within the stadium.
In compliance with the Denver Public Health Order issued Tuesday — and regardless of vaccination status — people will have to wear a mask “within any public indoor space,” according to a Denver Broncos news release.
The order includes, but is not limited to, the Broncos Team Store, restrooms, elevators, indoor portions of stadium clubs, suite level corridors and the press box.
“With suites considered private spaces, masks are not required in these areas of Empower Field at Mile High,” the release said. Masks will not be required in outdoor seating or general concourse areas.
The updated mandate will be announced to fans leading up to, and on, gameday, the Broncos said.
“Empower Field at Mile High will remain in close communication with public officials and health experts, adjusting its COVID-19 policies as necessary based on the latest recommendations and in accordance with all local and league protocols,” the release said. “We will continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including encouraging all eligible Coloradoans to receive the vaccination.”
