An adorable Cocker Spaniel has been dubbed Britain's most destructive dog after he gave his owner’s cream carpet an unwanted makeover.
Samuel, a three-year-old pup from Sittingbourne in Kent, managed to beat heavy competition to take up the winning title in a national competition.
The four-legged friend knocked a can of bright blue paint down the stairs and all over owner’s Zara Angelova’s cream carpet.
She snapped a hilarious picture of the pup looking sorry for himself as he poses next to his artistic creation on the once-immaculate floor.
The adorable black Cocker Spaniel sent paint flying, leaving huge blue patches and splatters all over the carpet.
Zara said: “I’d just finished painting an old chest of drawers and foolishly left the open pot at the top of the stairs because I heard my phone ringing. Samuel followed me down the stairs and, in doing so, knocked over the pot.
“Result? One destroyed carpet and a large bill to replace it all. He looked so sorry that I couldn’t find it in my heart to be angry with him.”
Samuel has beat off competition from more than 100 other pets to take home the somewhat-coveted title of most destructive pet, run by retail company ScS.
Zara will take home a new sofa as a result – and will hope to keep it away from Samuel’s artistic expressions.
In second was a three-year-old Pomeranian Bella who went on a rampage leaving it’s owners pillow in tatters and her walls needing a revamp.
Third place went to a pair of pugs after they too decided to rip apart their owner’s cushions.
