Cyclist filmed pushing Asda shopping trolley down busy road moments before crash

A bonkers dashcam video shows a cyclist trying to get a trolley-load of shopping home by peddling along in tandem.

In the clip, recorded by a driver in Cwmbran in South Wales, a bald bloke is cycling down the main road while also holding onto an Asda shopping trolley.

As he cycles towards the roundabout with the supermarket trolley at his side he apparently "bottles" it at the last moment and decides to go on the pavement.

Unfortunately, when he hits the curb his trolley goes flying along with all his food, Wales Online reports.

Electrician Craig caught the whole drama on his dashcam while on his way to Easy Pacers running club on Monday (August 16).

He told the news title: "I couldn't believe what I was seeing at first.

"I just thought, 'This is golden' and got out my phone to film him."

In the clip, which he shared on social media, the 42-year-old dad wonders aloud how the man is going to make it over the roundabout in one piece.

"He was lucky the roads were fairly quiet, usually it's pretty full-on down there," he said.

The dad said the cyclist appeared to "bottle it" at the last minute before the roundabout – which was probably for the best.

"He ended up mounting the kerb instead and everything in the trolley spilled out over the floor," he said.

And, apparently, it wasn't the first time the man had done it.

One of the comments under the video on Craig's Facebook page revealed the same mystery cyclist was previously seen at a nearby supermarket trying to strap a trolley to his bike before attempting to pedal away.

It seems like somebody ought to buy the bloke a bicycle trailer for his birthday before he takes another tumble on a daredevil trip to the supermarket.
