Creepy doorbell footage has left Reddit users scrambling for whacky explanations including "a little fleet of UFOs" and a ghost.
A bizarre video of "coordinated" specs of light moving in unison on a doorstep has been shared on Reddit's HighStrangeness community.
Captured by a Ring doorbell, it was shared with the caption: "Bugs? Spiderwebs? I was directed here after posting this as a comment in r/Ghosts."
One social media user theorised that for all we know, alien life forms could be tiny and were caught hovering around this porch.
They said: "Man I'm stumped on this one. The movements are so odd, and the tracer/trail it leaves towards the end is super interesting.
"I can't think of anything natural that hovers around like this
"Like others have said, it almost looks like a little fleet of UFOs. Who said aliens were big? For all we know they could be tiny"
"It’s clearly fairies," another theorised.
The clip was apparently not the first time someone in the thread had seen mysterious movements like it.
Prince Philip's death was 'gentle' and 'like someone took him by the hand'
They added: "Yeah. Super weird. Before I go off the deep end, it just seems like coordinated movement.
"If fireflies flew into a spiderweb, I doubt they'd all collectively tell one another to "make a left. Now go straight. Crap… back up back up.
"In the off chance that this is how fireflies talk to one another. Kudos.
"There is this video where something like this was seen in Mexico or something. Although the scale was larger and this presence (or whatever it was) seemed more ominous."
A viewer less convinced by others' supernatural theories suggested the camera most likely just picked up bugs reflecting light.
"My guess is it's some grouping of flying insects though not necessarily fireflies. I don't think these bugs are making the illumination but reflecting the light from across the street," they wrote.
"They're probably following the scent of a flower or maybe a possible mate, and just happen to be following the same scent."
