A British woman has died after being hit by a speedboat propeller on the Greek island of Corfu.

The woman was swimming off Avlaki beach on the Greek island before the tragedy occurred.

Her body was spotted by other bathers just after 10am local time and she had serious injuries to her “lower extremities”.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
