The man, believed to be in his 20s, reportedly fell onto rocks at Sa Foradada in the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range.

He is thought to have fallen around 60 feet having been climbing with a friend who was unhurt.

Firefighters and Civil Guard mountain rescue crews have been working to recover his body following the tragedy around 2.30pm on Thursday.

A police helicopter has been mobilised to try to help in the operation.
