Boston reporter Ted Wayman stabbed with scissors while working on story

A Boston TV reporter was stabbed with a pair of scissors while working on a story over the weekend, according to news reports.

Ted Wayman of  WCVB-TV was working near Copely Square on Sunday night when he was attacked.

He was rushed to a local hospital, but is “going to be fine,” a spokesman for the station told the Boston Globe.

Boston police said Monday a 44-year-old man was arrested in the incident, which took place around 9 p.m. near Dartmouth and Boylston streets, the outlet reported.

Police did not release the name of the suspect, but masslive.com identified him Tuesday as Cirilo Aldana-Peraedes, who allegedly used a pair of scissors to stab Wayman in the forearms.

Aldana-Peraedes was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, the outlet said.

It was unclear what sparked the attack.

A photojournalist who was working with Wayman was not hurt, the reports said.
