Bloodied men filmed battering each other with metal fitness kit inside Essex gym

Disturbing video shows the moment gym-goers batter each other with metal exercise equipment after a brawl erupted at a fitness centre.

The incident – which happened last Thursday – saw several men using their fists alongside metal poles to attack each other at Ab Salute gym in Brentwood, Essex.

As the footage begins, a person can be seen filming from behind a counter with a large commotion heard in the background, while a group of men run towards the gym's weights area.

As the shouting continues, a voice can be heard saying: "F***ing hell man."

The person filming then exits the counter through a turnstile and heads into the gym area where a man in a blue top is seen running away from another man dressed in black who tackles him onto a set of weights.

He is immediately jumped on by a man in a grey top, who is then set upon by two men brandishing metal exercise bars.

One of the men, wearing a light-coloured top, whacks the man on the back with a metal pole as the other man stands poised to join in.

Another clip shows the same pair of men attacking the man in blue again.

The taller of the men – who has blood running down his face – beats him twice across the back, bringing the bar high above his head before crashing it down onto the victim's leg.
