Bloke who weighed 27 stone had ‘bag of meth stashed deep in belly button’

A 27 stone man has been rumbled by cops who found a stash of drugs in his belly button.

That’s the bizarre claim from police in Florida.

Martin Skelly, 41, from nearby St Petersburg, was only found out when arrested for having a hypodermic needle containing methamphetamine.

Police took him down to the Pinellas County Detention Center where a body search eventually turned up a bag of meth stuffed deep inside his stomach folds.

The Smoking Gun reports the 380-pound Florida Man was then hit with additional felony charges.

A report said the bag of meth was “wedged deep within the belly button cavity of the defendant”.

The belly button bag allegedly contained 2.7 grams of meth.

He had originally been arrested after staff at a McDonald’s in Clearwater were worried about him and called police.

Skelly reportedly told a police: “I was just being dumb and not thinking.”

The discovery of the hidden meth resulted in two additional felony charges being filed against Skelly.

They were introducing contraband into a correctional facility and narcotics possession. He has now been jailed in lieu of $9,150 (£7,074) bond.

He previous had a three-year stretch in state prison for cocaine trafficking, plus arrests for theft, drunk driving, narcotics possession, violating probation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
