Following his altercation with Chris, Will walked off of the stage and the two exchanged words.

When the cameras panned back to Will, Lupita was also caught in the frame.

Though the camera was focused on Will, Lupita's reaction to the unforeseen altercation was visible to viewers.

Chris said: "Oh wow. Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me."

To which the Oscar winner responded: "Leave my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth."

Chris added: "Wow, it was a GI Jane joke," to which Will repeated the same reply he uttered before.

Throughout the entire ordeal and exchange of words, Lupita's facial expressions as a bystander are witnessed by Oscar audiences.

Although Chris and Will's violent fiasco resulted in their own viral moment of the night, Lupita also made waves for her genuine expression in the middle of the encounter.
