Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) made a resounding return to EastEnders earlier this week — after almost a year of absence.
Viewers will know that Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) has had thousands of pounds worth of money stolen from her account, and it was later revealed that Stacey was the person responsible.
Her return to Walford has already ruffled quite a few feathers, with Ruby and mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) just a few that she’s clashed with thus far.
Jean is hurt that her daughter stayed away from Albert Square when she needed her the most.
While Stacey has evidently been busy spending Ruby’s cash, you might find yourself wondering what else she’s got up to over the past year?
Do you remember that a boyfriend of her’s named Jerome popped by Albert Square last year?
Who is Jerome in EastEnders?
Stacey departed Walford on August 1, 2019 after hitting Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) with a wrench in order to protect Martin Fowler (James Bye).
Prior to her return, she made a one-off appearance on October 28, 2019, when Martin visited her in a hotel.
He informed her that their marriage was over, and that he’d slept with ex Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) — which left Stacey fuming.
With Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) knowing of what she’d done, the young man subsequently blackmailed Martin — threatening both his and his family’s lives if he didn’t do as he demanded.
Martin therefore lied to protect Stacey.
However, on November 22, 2019, he was left in shock when a man named Jerome popped by the Slater’s home to pick up a few bits and bobs for Stacey.
It was revealed that he and Stacey were in a relationship at the time, and Martin was seething, as he evidently knew that his beloved wife had moved on.
Jerome revealed that he’d met Stacey on the school run, and that she couldn’t face returning to Albert Square at that particular moment in time.
Who played Jerome in EastEnders?
Actor Chris Charles portrayed Jerome. He made one appearance, in the soap’s 6,028th episode.
EastEnders continues Friday September 25 at 8:30pm on BBC One.
