Vikings came to an end in late 2020 after six seasons and 89 episodes. Over the years, viewers said goodbye to many characters including the show’s main protagonist Ragnar Lothrbok (played by Travis FImmel). Travis Fimmel

Travis Fimmel starred in the first four seasons of Vikings as the legendary Viking Ragnar Lothbrok.

The entire sereis was based on Ragnar and his sons, Björn Ironside (played by Alexander Ludwig), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen), Hvitserk ( Marco Ilsø) and Sigurd (David Lindström).

Ragnar met a brutal end after being thrown into a pile of poisonous snakes by King Aelle of Northumbria(Ivan Kaye).

Fimmel has gone on to star in HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves as Celeb/Marcus, starring alongside Amanda Collin.

Fimmel has also appeared in several films since leaving Vikings, including Warcraft, Finding Steve McQueen, Lean on Pete, Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan and Dreamland.

He will appear in the upcoming films, Here Are the Young Men, El Tonto, One Way, Die in a Gunfight and Delia’s Gone.

Katheryn Winnick

Katheryn Winnick appeared in all six seasons of Vikings as the Viking shieldmaiden Lagertha.

Sadly, Lagertha was killed in season six, part one by Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø), one of Ragnar’s sons.

Winnick is currently starring in the ABC series Big Sky as Jenny Hoyt, starring alongside Kylie Bunbury and Brian Geraghty.

Just as Vikings was coming to an end, Winnick starred in Wu Assassins as Christine CG Gavin on Netflix

Winnick will star in the upcoming Sean Penn drama film Flag Day and recently appeared in The Marksmen as Sarah Pennington.

Alexander Ludwig

Alexander Ludwig starred as Ragnar’s first son, Bjorn Ironside in Vikings.

He appeared in seasons four, five and six of the drama, meeting his end in the season six, part one finale.

Fans can next see Ludwig in the Starz series Heels as Ace Spade.

In Heels, he stars alongside Stephen Amell, Chris Bauer, Allen Maldonado.

Since Vikings wrapped up in 2019, Ludwig has starred in several films including Bad Boys for Life, Midway and Operation Christmas Drop.

He will appear in the upcoming film Recon as Marson and will play Alex in the drama film Swing.

Gustaf Skarsgård

Gustaf Skarsgård appeared as the much-loved Floki in Vikings.

Floki was missing from part one of Vikings season six but thankfully made a return in the series six finales, where he was reunited with Ragnar’s son Ubbe.

Most recently Skarsgård starred as Karl Strand in Westworld and Merlin in Netflix’s Cursed.

He also appeared in the film 438 Days as Martin Schibbye.

Clive Standen

Clive Standen starred as Rollo in the first five series of Vikings.

Since leaving Vikings, Standen has appeared in NBC’s Council of Dads as Anthony Lavelle

Sadly, the series was cancelled after one season in 2020.

His other credits include Byran Mills is Taken and Gabriel Taylor in Mirage.

Standen also appeared in the film Vault as Chucky, starring alongside Samira Wiley, Theo Rossi and Chazz Palminteri.
