Actresses Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein both netted their first Golden Globe nominations this week. The two rising stars probably look super familiar to you because they’ve been in a ton of movies and television shows over the past few years.
Kaitlyn Dever’s roles
Dever’s first big role was in the FX series, Justified, in which she had a recurring role from 2011-2015. From 2011-2017, she started in Last Man Standing. Her first major film role was in 2013’s Short Term 12, starring opposite LaKeith Stanfield and Brie Larson.
From 2014-2019, she starred in the films Laggies, Detroit, Outside In, Beautiful Boy, and Them That Follow. Her first starring role on television came this year with the Netflix limited series, Unbelievable, which earned Dever her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Limited Series or Television Film.
Beanie Feldstein’s roles
As the younger sister of Jonah Hill, Feldstein had roots in the industry before she event started. After appearing in the films Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and The Female Brain her first major role came when she co-starred in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird.
In 2019, she starred in How to Build a Girl, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. This year she’s also had a recurring role in What We Do in the Shadows. She’s set for a huge role in 2020 with American Crime Story: Impeachment.
Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein starred together in ‘Booksmart’
What you may recognize Dever and Feldstein from the most is the critically-acclaimed 2019 film, Booksmart. The high school comedy film was directed by Olivia Wilde.
The film is what earned Feldstein her Golden Globe nomination. She’s nominated for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. In the film, Dever and Feldstein play two best friends who, after spending all four years in the books, decide to fit years worth of partying into one night.
