Virgin River fans can hardly contain their excitement as the new season is about to drop on Netflix. Season three is set to be the biggest yet, with Mel (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) facing their toughest emotional challenges to date. But what time will the third season drop on Netflix?
What time will season 3 of Virgin River drop?
Virgin River fans don’t have to wait much longer as the hit series will be back on Netflix on July 9.
Fans will remember that season two of the series ended on a nail-biting cliff-hanger, which season three promising to answer all the burning questions.
Season two ended when Jack was shot and left bleeding out on the floor.
The moment was one of the shocking in the show’s history and has led to an agonising wait for season three for fans.
Netflix always drops new content at midnight (12pm) PST, 3am EST or 8am in the UK.
Last month Netflix dropped the first trailer for season three which did offer some insight on what to expect this time around.
First of all, Jack and Mel are still very much in love during season three, in fact, it looks set to be the most romantic season yet, with the pair inseparable in the trailer.
The trailer also hints at a possible time jump, suggesting the pair could be having a child at some point this season.
All the potential plot lines have sent fans into a frenzy, with many of them posting comments on the latest trailer shared to the Netflix YouTube channel.
One fan said: “I am so looking forward to season 3 of Virgin River. Have lost count of the number of times I have watched 1 & 2.
“I love everything about it. Every character, the storylines, the scenery, and especially the chemistry between Mel & Jack. There will be drama, we are sure but I felt so happy when the release was announced. Thanks Netflix.”
“I love this show! It’s a comforting and realistic show. I can already tell that I will hate Charmaine again,” commented another.
The official synopsis for season three reads: “In Virgin River season three, we’ve got even more drama in store for our beloved characters.
“Highlights include, a funeral, a fire, a divorce, a hurricane and a new romance, in a twist-packed season that’ll keep fans on the edge of their seats.”
Once again there will be 10 episodes this season, with each episode’s run time lasting around the 45-minute mark.
All the main cast will be returning once again, with John ‘Preacher’ Middleton (Colin Lawrence) and Charmaine Roberts (Lauren Hammersley) joining the show’s leads.
Rounding out the season three cast is Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole), Doc Mullins (Tim Matheson), Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth), and Ricky (Grayson Maxwell Gursney).
Sue Tenney is back as the lead showrunner on the series, with the producer recently sitting down with Netflix.com to discuss the upcoming season.
First of all, she confirmed the rumours that there would be a time jump this season, explaining that it was done so the show could focus on what is “most compelling.”
Tenney continued: “We are always looking for ways to cut deep into the story, and a time jump allowed for that.
“Once it is established that Jack is going to survive the shooting, the psychological component of his recuperation is what’s most compelling.”
Virgin River season three will be available to watch exclusively on Netflix from July 9.
