If you’re in a rut when it comes to breakfast and you’reshort on time, “ThePioneer Woman” star Ree Drummond has a solution for you. In the fall 2019issue of “The Pioneer Woman” magazine, Drummond shares one of her best tips formaking a hearty breakfast on school mornings.
One of Ree Drummond’s favorite ingredients is butter
If you’re familiar with Drummond’s cooking style, then youknow she loves to use butter in her recipes. She makes this clear in thecaption on her Twitter and Instagram pages, which reads, “Wife of cowboy.Mother of four. Lover of butter. Amen.” Drummond often posts funny storiesabout herlove of butter on The Pioneer Woman blog. Some of her funniest quotes aboutbutter are, “Butter is a church of which I am a member,” and “If butter ran forpresident, I would vote for it.”
Ree Drummond’s solution for busy school mornings
In the fall 2019 issue of “The Pioneer Woman,” Drummondanswered questions from her fans. One fan asked Drummond for a recipe that’squick and easy to make during the busy back-to-school season. Here’s thesuggestion Drummond gave:
I’m a big fan of egg bites, whether I make them in a mini muffin pan or an instant pot (my new cookbook has a recipe). I whip up a big batch, then let them cool and stick them in the freezer so I can reheat them later. I’ve actually started selling egg bites in grocery stores—I’m so excited! Look for a veggie and chorizo version in the freezer section. On busy mornings you can pop them in the microwave for a minute and they’re ready. They’re protein-packed and portable, which is what we need in my house.
One food ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond will never eat
In a 2011 post on ThePioneer Woman blog, Drummond wrote about her dislike of bananas. This wouldmake another tasty snack if you’re short on time in the morning, but we doubtDrummond would ever suggest it. Here’swhat she said about the horror she feels when she’s near a banana:
I hate, abhor, loathe, and recoil at the sight of bananas. I’ve disliked them my entire life, even when I was a baby. And I happen to believe that this is some sort of genetic aversion, as both my dad and one of my brothers share it, too. In my entire forty-two years on this earth, I’ve never eaten a whole banana. I’ve had accidental bites here and there, half of which were promptly spit out into a napkin.
