The Big Bang Theory fans slam error with Leonard’s short-sightedness after dramatic collision – The Sun

FANS of The Big Bang Theory have pointed out a huge contradiction in Leonard’s short-sightedness.

One viewer said his condition was “greatly exaggerated” in a scene which saw him stumbling around his apartment without his glasses.

At one point, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) even crashes into one of the pillars in his living room.

The fan wrote: “Leonard's myopia (short-sightedness) is greatly exaggerated in this episode. Even with high myopia he should still be able to navigate his apartment without aid especially after living there for seven years.”

Leonard is on the hunt for a spare pair of glasses after friend Howard (Simon Helberg) accidentally breaks his before a Planet of the Apes movie marathon.

While Leonard’s accident made for a classic sitcom moment, some viewers pointed out the scene wasn’t realistic.

The comedy came to an end last year after 12 seasons, but fans are still loving it and rewatching the show with enthusiasm.

They also uncovered a huge plot hole with Leonard’s high school growth spurt.

Eagle-eyed viewers were able to spot a gap in something he tells his future wife Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in an early episode.

From the outset Leonard was clearly besotted with his neighbour Penny and tried to hide his smarts to try and win her over.

However, he would often use his self-deprecative sense of humour to bring a laugh out of the Big Bang Theory favourite.

In season one, he invites Penny over to help choose a suit for the The Cooper Hofstadter Polarization where he will deliver important speech about his scientific research.

As they're going through his wardrobe the topic of his height comes up after Penny is less than happy with his clothing options.

She asks him: "Is this all your clothes?"

Leonard replies: "Yup, everything since the eighth grade. My last growth spurt."

A cute joke indeed, but something does not add up as savvy viewers have found.

Moving forward to season eight in the episode, The Prom Equivalency, where the friends host their own prom night.

The Big Bang Theory gang were discussing what their own proms were like, with Leonard saying he had a growth spurt after his.

This does not add up with what he said in the first season because proms are usually held in the 12th grade of high school.

It could be a simple mistake on the part of the writers, or Leonard was lying to Penny in the first season.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix UK.
