'Station 19' Season 5 Premiere Crossover Recap — Everything 'Grey's Anatomy' Fans Missed

Some fans did not rejoice when the Station 19 Season 5 Premiere and the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 premiere turned into a crossover event. Many love to watch only medical drama, while others prefer firefighter drama. Either way, if viewers need to know what happened in the first hour of the crossover, read below in the Station 19 Season 5 Episode 1 premiere recap.

Andy Herrera and Robert Sullivan are still on the rocks

In the first few minutes of the Station 19 Season 5 premiere, Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) confronted the fire chief about her demotion. She ended up stepping down so that the chief wouldn’t separate the whole team.

However, Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) was transferred to Station 23 for insubordination, and she blames Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe). In 10 months, she hasn’t had a conversation with him, and now he wants to talk. She’s still mad and believes he is the reason for her transfer.

Who is the new captain in the ‘Station 19’ Season 5 premiere?

At the Seattle Phoenix Fair, Captain Beckett is the new interim captain for Station 19, who continuously refers to Maya as the “pretty” firefighter. However, he leaves the fire truck door open, and three fairgoers (who are high on mushrooms) steal it in an attempt to save their friend. The patient shot himself in the face with an illegal firework. A few seconds after they steal the rig, they take a turn too fast, and it rolls over.

The turnedover fire truck blocks the traffic so that the AID car cannot get through to transport the patient to Grey Sloan. So, the firefighters must transport him on foot.

The new captain at Station 19 orders Bishop and Herrera to climb up on the turned over fire truck despite the risk of an explosion from a fuel leak. A street performer drops a flame into the leak, and the two women are forced to jump off of it. The firefighters watch as the fire truck goes up in flames. However, the new captain insists it’s nothing more than a hunk of metal.

Maya and Carina’s wedding night

In the Station 19 Season 5 premiere , after Bishop and Herrera confront the fire chief, they head back to the wedding, distraught. Maya tried to make the best of the rest of her wedding night but ended up crying to Carina over everything that just happened.

Meanwhile, Ben Warren confronted Sullivan at the wedding. The firefighter claimed he didn’t want to take Bishop’s job, but Warren called him ruthless.

Finally, 10 months later, Sullivan apologizes to the team and admits that he was wrong for what he said to the fire chief. However, Herrera already called a divorce lawyer.

‘Station 19’ Season 5 Premiere: Theo Ruiz and Vic Hughes

After Carina and Maya’s wedding, Dean decided he wouldn’t tell Vic about his love for her because it would make things awkward. So, when Station 19 Season 5 flashed forward 10 months, Vic and Theo were still together. ‘Station 19’ Season 5 Premiere
