Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) was unable to resist the chemistry between she and DI Malone (Mark Womack) in Emmerdale — something which she’s been feeling incredibly guilty about given that she cheated on Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who — in an effort to win back the love of his life — recently proposed.
Yes, Will popped the question during the latest episode, and it’s safe to say that Harriet is in shock afterwards — and wracked with guilt over what transpired between she and Malone at the hotel a few hours earlier.
However, in spite of her guilt, she ultimately accepts his proposal, and Will is filled with joy. In an effort to mark the occasion, he asks all those in the village to join him for a celebratory drink.
Harriet doesn’t like such attention, and therefore she decides to make the celebration a joint one, as Moira (Natalie J Robb) is celebrating her birthday during the same week.
Later, all those present congratulate Harriet on the strength of her relationship with Will — something which makes her all the more guilty.
The question is: will the wedding go ahead?
What will Malone have to say on the matter?
We know he’d do just about anything to mess with Will’s head, but one can’t help but wonder how he’ll feel about Harriet tying the knot?
Does the dodgy copper have actual feelings for Harriet? Their dalliance together would certainly appear to suggest so, and the fact that they’ve got something of a history is worth noting too.
Will Malone be jealous? The fact that he’s got leverage over Harriet could mean that he could use it to manipulate the situation to his advantage once more.
Will he reveal the truth to Will?
One to watch: Monday 25 May at 7pm on ITV.
