Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen fronted a new series for This Morning which saw her demonstrate her cooking skills and take on the challenge of learning how to fly fish. Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond were excited to see Amanda’s new segment for the ITV show, which came just days after her own series was taken off Channel 5.
Amanda, her husband Clive and their nine children usually shares details of their lives at Ravenseat Farm on Tuesday evenings.
However earlier this week, the latest episode in the series was missing as Channel 5 aired drama Anne Boleyn in its place.
Fans were furious with the schedule shake-up and complained on Twitter with one writing: “Why no #OurYorkshireFarm this week? It was advertised at the end of last week’s episode so where is it?
“It’s the absolute highlight of my week! @AmandaOwen8 xxx.”
Another added: “Why wasn’t #OurYorkshireFarm on? Would much rather watch that any day than this!! A proper family.”
A third tweeted: “@channel5_tv when is the last episode of the current series of #OurYorkshireFarm on? It is not in the listings for today.
“Last week it said at the end of the episode next time and about the family filming themselves as a second lockdown takes place.”
While it’s yet to be confirmed when the eighth episode of Our Yorkshire Farm will air, Amanda appeared on This Morning on Thursday.
Amanda, 46, showed viewers how to make a trout pate after learning how to catch a rainbow trout.
“First, I’m going to smoke the fish on an outdoor grill using the smoker, which cost around £20,” she explained.
“Now, while my fish is smoking in there, it’s only going to take about 15 minutes, I’m going to mix up the base for my pate.
“This is a Shepherd’s Purse York Sheep cheese so that’s very in keeping with me.
“Having crumbled 150g of the cheese, time to add about 50g of Crème Fraîche.
“Next, I add the zest and juice of one lemon. so that will also help soften down the pate and give it a bit of a tang.
“I add a sprinkle of freshly chopped dill and some ground pepper before the wonderful smokey aroma tells me the trout is ready.”
“I can’t believe that I actually caught this very fish,” Amanda noted as she cut it up to add to her pate mix.
“I just want to have a bit of texture with it,” she added before inviting viewers to spread it on sourdough bread.
This Morning viewers were quick to comment on Amanda’s new role with one writing on Twitter: “So the Yorkshire shepherdess woman is becoming a celebrity chef now? #ThisMorning.”
Another added: “Yorkshire shepherdess woman will be getting her own itv cooking show soon, I can see where this is going! #ThisMorning.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
