Each year the Strictly Come Dancing pro dancers are paired up with an eager celebrity contestant who wants to learn how to dance. The pros and celebrities dedicate hours to perfecting their routines and Neil Jones has spoken out on the concerns he has over the amount of weight he loses during the intense training sessions.
The 39-year-old Ballroom and Latin dancer admitted he fears pressure to keep in shape.
Neil remarked: “All the other guys, like Gorka and Giovanni, they’re all young.
“Even while we’re doing the show and training, I still go to the gym in the morning as well.
“The thing is, what happens is, we get really lean during the show, we lose so much weight because we’re dancing so much.”

“So it’s really important at the moment that I’ve been trying to overload,” Neil continued.
“I’ve been trying to work out more, that way as I lose weight, I’m not losing muscle as well.”
Gorka Marquez and Giovanni Pernice are both 31 and Neil pointed out he’s the eldest male pro dancer.
The Ballroom and Latin dancer confessed he feels he’s stepped into Anton Du Beke’s shoes now he’s on the judging panel.
“I’m turning 40 next year and I just wanted to try and get myself in better condition,” he told The Mirror.
“I’m definitely being more active, so I was doing a lot of wakeboarding and wake surfing.”
Neil and Nina wowed the Strictly judges last weekend and will be looking to do the same on Saturday.
The pair are performing a Tango to Eurythmics’ Would I Lie to You? for their second routine.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes paint a positive picture for the couple as Nina is ranked 25/1 to be the first eliminated.
In contrast, Sara Davies is the bookies’ favourite at 9/4 while Ugo Monye is close behind at 5/2.
However, Greg Wise has seen the largest number of bets place on him being the first celebrity axed from the show.
The actor is rated at 7/1 and is behind Sara, Ugo, Tilly Ramsay and Judi Love in the betting.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Greg may not be the favourite with the bookies to leave first, but he certainly is with punters and the money suggests he could be the first to waltz out of Strictly.”
Greg and Karen Hauer will perform Couple’s Choice to If You Could Read My Mind by Ultra Naté, Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez.
Meanwhile, Rose Ayling-Ellis is tipped to win with Giovanni Pernice with 3/1 odds.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday at 7pm.
