Naga Munchetty shut down by MP as Afghan evacuation debate on BBC turns tense

Naga Munchetty was slapped down by Tom Tugendhat for asking "intrusive questions" as she grilled about those who still remain in Afghanistan with the August 31, 2021 deadline fast approaching.

The 46-year-old and Charlie Stayt, 59, wanted to update viewers on the latest developments following the current Afghan crisis on Saturday's episode of BBC Breakfast.

It had been confirmed that the UK will wrap up the process early, with the evacuation now finishing on Saturday.

This will mean that thousands of civilians will ultimately be left behind and will not be eligible to seek refuge in Britain.

Like many watching at home, Naga wanted to find out what plans the government had in place to help those who would not make it to the UK.

This proved to be a question that Tugendhat did not want to answer as he responded, telling her: "I'm not going to answer that."
