Lauren German has been the heart and soul of Lucifer ever since the Biblical fantasy-crime series began on original network Fox back in 2016. After five years and six seasons, German’s time as LAPD detective Lauren German finally came to an end on Netflix last weekend, and the actress took to Instagram with a heartfelt message to the show’s legion of fans.

Chloe Decker star Lauren German has taken to her personal Instagram page with an emotional statement to Lucifer fans.

The American TV star, 42, released a behind-the-scenes snap of her long-suffering co-star Tom Ellis in the show’s noir special, ‘It Never Ends Well for the Chicken’.

Alongside the exclusive snap, she said her farewells by thanking ‘Lucifans’ for sticking with the series for so long.

She wrote: “As we close this journey, I’d like to thank you fans for enjoying our show and for rallying for us since the start.”

“It’s a sweet thing you know. You’re loving. Be well, many thanks.”

After starting life on Fox, the series ran for three seasons before its original cancellation in 2018.

An overwhelming response from fans, which included an online petition for a fourth season using the trending hashtag #SaveLucifer, caught the attention of Netflix, who revived Lucifer for an additional three seasons.

The series has since become one of the platform’s most popular shows, and was the most watched streaming series in the US last year.

Plus, her farewell post received well over 200,000 likes, including from her co-star Aimee Garcia, who has portrayed CSI Ella Lopez since season two.

‘Lucifans’ can also follow the actress for updates from her personal life as well as the occasional behind-the-scenes pic of her Lucifer co-stars.

Some of Lauren German’s most recent posts have included some adorable pictures of her dog Pepper.

Sadly, the latest season of Lucifer will be the last time German will reprise her role as Lucifer Morningstar’s (played by Tom Ellis) partner and love interest.

Following the release of the final ten episodes last Friday, fans have been pouring out their support for the cast’s final performances.

For Chloe’s showcase in the fifth episode of Lucifer’s final season, ‘The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar’, German was named TV Line’s Performer of the Week.

They wrote: “It was only fitting that with Lucifer’s farewell run, German delivered some of her most engaging performances over six seasons.”

“And while there is a lot to be said for her work in Episode 9 (which would have been eligible next week), Episode 5 in fact served up a greater variety of notes for her to play.”

Lauren German has subsequently become a household name after Lucifer was lucky enough to be revived by Netflix for another three seasons.

Now the series has fully wrapped up, her fans will be keeping their eyes peeled for her next major acting gig in which she will undoubtedly impress.

Lucifer season 6 is available to stream on Netflix.
