LIAM Gallagher has revealed he has undergone a major hip operation as he insisted "the comeback is real."

The Wonderwall hitmaker, 50, took to Twitter to open up on recent surgery as Oasis reunion rumours with his brother Noel, 55, continue to swirl.


Liam, who is ever-candid on social media, kept fans in the loop as he wrote: "Morning Rastas so I had my Hip operation last wk all went well and RESPEK [respect] to all the doctors n nurses who looked after me.

"Big shout out to the A team for getting us home safe n sound you know who you are and Florence guru I love and adore you Riverdance here I come LG x"

One fan was quick to quiz: "I hope the operation hasn’t affected your swagger!!"

The For What It's Worth musician was quick to reassure him his swagger walk would remain as he explained: "I’m getting my physio to study old videos of my walk so we don’t miss a trick the comeback is real."

Liam's brother and bandmate Noel recently split with his wife – and is said he won't be ruling out an Oasis reunion.

Guitarist Noel told a DJ pal this month: “Well, you should never say never… it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances but that’s not to say those won’t ever come about."

The brothers have grown closer amid the breakdown of Noel’s marriage to Sara MacDonald.

Asked by BBC Radio Manchester’s Mike Sweeney how he and Liam, 50, were getting on, Noel said: “Oh, brilliantly, yeah.”

Sweeney, who has known him for years, said: “Genuinely?”

Noel replied: “Genuinely, yeah.”

Recently, Liam looked unrecognisable as he stepped out with a dark bushy beard.

The ex-Oasis frontman was seen with long black and grey face fuzz while on his daily swagger.

Liam wore a black hooded coat, with matching shorts and trainers out near his North London home.

An onlooker said: “I barely recognised him.”
