Kaley Cuoco has revealed why she thinks Penny was such a popular character with The Big Bang Theory fans.
The actress plays the beloved waitress-turned-pharmaceutical rep for 12 years on the hit comedy series.
And in a new chat, the 34-year-old shared her theory on why the character was such a instant hit with viewers.
Speaking to Emmy magazine, Kaley stated: ‘She represented the audience. She has big aspirations and loved the guys. Viewers were on her side from day one because she was always kind.
‘She laughed with them, not at them. She was always part of the group.’
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
Even though the cast are no longer working together on the show, fans have been thrilled to see they are still supporting each other on new projects.
The actress was one of the first to praise former co-star Kunal Nayyar’s first major television role after TBBT as he joined the second season of Netflix’s Criminal.
Kunal – who played Raj Koothrappali – is among the prime suspects in the detective drama, joined by Kit Harington, Sharon Horgan, and Sophie Okonedo.
And among the first to share their excitement was Kaley, who stated: ‘This looks so good!!!’ alongside clapping emojis.
Criminal is Kunal’s first big role since the Big Bang Theory after the actor took some time out following the end of the smash sitcom.
As for Kaley, she’s been non-stop since waving goodbye to Penny Holfstader.
As well as voicing the foul-mouthed Harley Quinn in the critically-acclaimed animation following the Batman villain, she’s also starring in and executive producing HBO Max’s highly-anticipated new drama, The Flight Attendant.
