Many of us will recognise Bronagh as Hollyoaks' Cheryl Brady. It was here where she made lasting friendships with co-stars such as Gerrard McCarthy. She and Gerrard also worked together in BBC Two’s thriller series, The Fall.
It was in this show that Bronagh played Sally-Ann Spector, wife to Fifty Shades of Grey hunk, Jamie Dornan’s murderous character, Paul Spector.
On playing a serial killer’s wife, Sally said: “I am so thrilled and honoured to have been given this opportunity by the BBC. It is such a challenging and demanding role that I feel will really stretch me and explore my range.”
It was fair to say Bronagh was thrown in at the deep end as she and Jamie shared a pretty intense sex scene together.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she revealed: “There was actually one bit where I put my hand around his throat. I kind of wish that had still been in, because I think that was very provocative. Not provocative, but it was kind of controversial.”
During her time on The Fall, Bronagh also rubbed shoulders with X Files legend Gillian Anderson. The show, which was originally aired in 2013, recently enjoyed a second wave of popularity after it landed on Netflix in August 2020.
The Fall stuck around in the top 10 chart for several weeks and Bronagh admitted to Belfast Live that she’d become more well-known since the show hit the streaming service.

She said: “We finished the show four years ago yet I'm being recognised more now than when it first aired. It's unbelievable how many people came to it brand new in 2020.”
Now, the actress is set to star in ITV’s highly anticipated drama, Viewpoint. She’ll play the tough and worldly police officer, DC Stella Beckett.
However, Bronagh announced on International Women’s day that she’d been spending the latest lockdown preparing for her “next role.”
She announced her pregnancy with a stunning photo captioned: “Over Lockdown I’ve been busy preparing for my next role (spoiler alert: it’s pretty major – I’m going to be a Ma!).”
Famous friends such as Laura Whitmore and Viewpoint co-star Noel Clarke flocked to the comments with happy messages.
Laura wrote: “Women’s bodies are the best! Congrats.”
While Noel commented: “YAY!! At last. Was wondering when you’d say. Love you loads. And glad I was there at the start (Not the start, start) but just there to be there for you and chit chat about things. You’re going to be a wonderful Mum. As you are a wonderful person. Love to Rich too. Nxxx”
Bronagh is pregnant with her first child with husband-to-be Richard Peacock.
