GAVIN and Stacey stars Joanna Page and Mathew Horne have sparked speculation a reunion is in the works as they’re spotted on a night out together in Wales.
The actors, who played the star crossed lovers from Essex and Barry Island, were spotted catching up over a few drinks.
Joanna, 43, and Matthew, 42, were spotted by a fan who was at the same bar with her boyfriend, enjoying the end of the firebreak lockdown in Wales.
Convinced the stars were in town to film for a special Christmas Day episode of Gavin and Stacey, the fan asked the two for a selfie, to which they happily obliged.
While it’s not clear whether Matthew and Joanna were in town together for anything Gavin and Stacey related, Joanna does host her own BBC Radio Wales show on Sunday mornings.
Kirstie Smith, the super fan who clocked the pair told Wales Online: “I was so chuffed to see them but obviously gutted due to what’s going on I couldn’t actually go up to them properly but at least I managed to get a quick picture.”
The actors were also spotted by another onlooker who posted on Twitter : “Don’t want anyone to lose their s*** but I’ve just seen Gavin and Stacey in Cardiff walking past me. Filming?”
The last episode ended on a major cliffhanger, with Ruth Jones character Nessa proposing to Smithy – played by James Corden- only for the credits to roll before he could answer.
And Ruth, 53, who wrote the series alongside fellow actor James, has been dodging questions about whether or not there will be any more episodes ever since.
Back in September she warned fans could be waiting another decade to find out whether Smithy said yes, telling Roman Kemp's Capital Breakfast show: "Who knows? It took us 10 years to come back.
"It might take us another 10 if we come back."
