In the finale of season 2, Emily's love interest Alfie announces he's returning to London and wants to do long distance. Gabriel, who she appears to love, asks his ex Camille to move in him with after she had made a pact not to get back together with him.

And her boss Sylvie at Savoir alongside every other employee of Savoir leaves the company to start anew.

Emily is left to decide whether she wants to take a job with Sylvie and extend her stay in Paris, or stay at Savoir, knowing she'll return to Chicago.
