Dancing on Ice' s Brendan Cole gave up and collapsed onto the floor after struggling with the lift aspect of his training.

Partner Vanessa Bauer shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the pair in rehearsals as she laughed at her partner who was attempting to lift the professional skater.

Brendan Cole, who is a professional ballroom dancer, was filmed with Vanessa as they practised their work on solid ground – but it still didn't go too well.

In the video, Vanessa is seen leaning backwards, while Brendan is leaning the opposite way and attempting to stand up, though he visibly struggles to get the duo back on their feet.

Once Vanessa stands up on her own, Brendan lays back and collapses onto the floor while the skater, who donned a matching pink co-ord, laughed at him.

As they discussed it afterwards, Brendan said: "My thighs are tired as well."

However, it's not all bad, and it seems Brendan's dance experience is certainly coming in handy as he skated along with Vanessa in additional snaps she shared onto her page.

It was announced earlier this week that Brendan and Vanessa would be working together, with both of them sharing it to their Instagram.

Vanessa wrote: "Meet my new Dancing on Ice partner Brendan Cole!

"We're both incredibly excited about this new partnership and can't wait to go above and beyond to hopefully deliver some magic on the ice for you. Let's do this partner!"

Brendan simply shared the post with the regram tool as his friends flooded in to share their support as he puts in the hours to form his gruelling training schedule.

The professional dancer also shared a sneak-peek of their training onto his profile as he said the pair are "pushing hard", which saw Vanessa state that he is a "dream to teach".

Brendan will be joining multiple celebs on the ice this year including Love Island's Liberty Poole, Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor and Rachel Stevens.

The show is expected to start in January 2022 – but who will take home the trophy?
