Louise Minchin presented her final episode of BBC Breakfast on Wednesday morning. She’s leaving the hit morning news show, having worked on the programme for around 20 years. In order to mark the occasion, her co-presenter Dan Walker planned lots of surprises for the star. However, to execute one of them, Dan was forced to break their “golden rule”.

Towards the end of Wednesday’s programme Dan blindfolded Louise and guided her outside the studio where a group of coworkers and friends had gathered to surprise her.

Louise was taken aback by the emotional surprise and thanked everyone involved for celebrating her last day with her.

However, she gave a special thanks to Dan after revealing to get her in place he had to break their “golden rule” of no touch.

Louise exclaimed: “Thank you as well for breaking your golden rule of touch. You’ve had to hold my hand all the way along to get me here!”

“Yes, but it’s been lovely to see you this morning enjoying yourself and enjoying the programme you’ve been on for so many years,” Dan replied.

More to come…
