Cocaine Cowboys Pitbull song: Is Pitbull behind Netflixs Cocaine Cowboys theme tune?

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami follows on from the story of the original documentary of the same name which came out in 2006. The Netflix series instead has a more uplifting tone, focusing on how the drug duo and high school best friends were able to get away with their crimes for so long. Despite only recently being released, subscribers are already excited to talk about the latest docu-series.

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami is about two childhood friends who go from high school dropouts to powerful drug kingpins.

The six-part series sees how they became one of the largest cocaine dealers in Miami, exploring how they went on to make billions of dollars.

The docu-series doesn’t stop there though as it goes on to see how they retained their freedom once the Government realised what they were up to.

Even though Cocaine Cowboys is an interesting watch, there is one detail outside of the show which has caught viewers’ attention.

Is Pitbull behind Netflix’s Cocaine Cowboys theme tune?

At the beginning of every episode, there is an upbeat Latin theme song played to get fans in the mood for the show.

While Netflix does give subscribers the option to skip the opening credits, many have decided not to, choosing to listen to the track.

This has caused fans of the docu-series to question what the song actually is and who sings it.

If you’re a fan of Pitbull, then you would recognise his rapping style anywhere.

The theme tune to Cocaine Cowboys on Netflix is Bloodsport by American rapper and singer Pitbull.

Some of the artist’s hit songs include Timber, Give Me Everything, Feel This Moment and You Know You Want Me.

He has won awards such as the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album and Billboard Music Award for Top Radio Song.

Now, he has made his way to Netflix to create his very first theme tune.

The track seems to be an original song, made especially for Cocaine Cowboys.

This is because Bloodsport doesn’t feature on any of his previous albums and neither has it been officially released.

As of yet, the song isn’t available to download on Spotify but given that it’s gone down well with Netflix subscribers, Bloodsport may come out as a single in the near future.

Although the show follows the wild ride of the two school best friends, it didn’t end well for either of them.

The pair were eventually both caught and Willy took a plea deal in order to lessen his time behind bars.

He was given a 20-year sentence for his crimes, while Sal remains in a federal prison serving a life sentence.

This is because he didn’t plead guilty and stood trial where he was convicted of money laundering and bribery.
