Britain’s Got Talent 2020 suffers Golden Buzzer leak after Simon Cowell fail

Britain’s Got Talent producers have suffered an epic leak just days into filming of the upcoming 2020 series.

Over the weekend the first of a handful of sessions kicked off at The London Palladium, with Amanda Holden , Alesha Dixon, David Williams and Simon Cowell all returning to the judging panel.

In a move which could be seen over eager by many, Simon opted to use his Golden Buzzer vote and send one contestant through to the live final just hours into filming.

While the official Britain’s Got Talent social media accounts posted about a shock Golden Buzzer moment, the kept the identity of the contestant secret so as not to spoil the show for viewers later in the year.

However, in a move which has left producers in an awkward position, further details about the star have leaked online after head-honcho Simon told excited audience members who leaked the news after he boldly told them to ‘do what the hell you like’.

As he took to his seat, Simon turned to the packed venue before saying: "You’ve probably been told you can’t take pictures, you can’t do this… Do what the hell you like."

Meanwhile, a source told Daily Star Online: "Obviously the standard protocol is for fans to keep their phones in their pockets during filming of any TV show.

"The last thing a producer wants is for a sea of iPhones to be visible behind the judges during the show – it would look ridiculous."

The insider added: "Simon was simply trying to hype up the crowd as he usual does but it’s hardly surprising details leaked after he ended up telling them they could take as many pictures as they liked."

After his successful return to the spotlight last year, Ant McPartlin is once again co-hosting Britain’s Got Talent alongside Declan Donnelly.

Though in a shake-up of the format, Stephen Mulhern’s spin-off show Britain’s Got More Talent as been canned.

The series, which is currently being filmed up and down the UK, will air on ITV later this year.

A rep for Britain’s Got Talent and Simon Cowell has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
