Bachelor in Paradise brought some amazing couples together this season…or so we thought. One by one, the pairs who ended the show together have been falling by the wayside, and even engaged couples have been calling it quits.
But there is one couple who fans are never quite sure if they have broken up or not. If you look at Chris Bukowski or Katie Morton’s social media pages, you would think that the pair had surely broken up or are on the rocks but neither of them has announced a split.
So, if they are still together, why keep their social media pages so bare?
Broken ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ relationships
Season six of Bachelor in Paradise ended with a few couples engaged and a few dating. Dylan Barbour and Hannah Godwin left the show preparing to be married and are still together. Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Dean Unglert also left Paradise together but just as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty proposed to one another at the end of the season but have since called it quits. And even Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones, the show’s weirdest couple that somehow worked, have gone their separate ways.
Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton’s relationship
Though Bukowski and Morton ended the show together, the two didn’t seem that pumped to be with one another.
At the Bachelor in Paradise tell-all event, cracks were already starting to show in the relationship.
“I was just so head over heels,” Morton said of how she felt for Bukowski initially. “But now, things have gotten more complicated. Communication’s been hard. I’m exhausted.”
“We’re still engaged,” she continued. “I just put in so much effort every day and I love him so much, but I put in so much that my tank empties. And if I’m not getting it filled, I break down.
And afterward, she posted a cryptic message to Instagram.
“As you’ve seen..It’s been the furthest from easy,” she captioned a photo of her and Bukowski’s hands. “From the decision to take the leap onto the beach, navigating what was real and staying true to myself, and my world that spun out afterward. None of it has been a walk in the park. BUT I’ve learned, a lot.”
“Communication is the link to everything, which is something we sure did LACK in paradise and shortly after,” she continued. “It took us a few months to really get our bearings (especially with some exceptional and unexpected challenges). I know none of you will truly understand why things are the way they are but I ask that you trust me and support me as I navigate this new world of mine. Because I’m happy with me and we are finally happy with us. We have grown so much in our friendship and now in our relationship since that day. Like I said to both of our parents and I will say to you- I can’t promise you this relationship will be perfect (it won’t be/ it isn’t) and I can’t promise we will last forever. Honestly, some relationships don’t last after 20 years and some do, that’s life.”
Why don’t Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski post each other on social media often?
Apparently, Bukowski’s lack of photos of Morton on his Instagram comes from his love of keeping people guessing.
“It’s kind of great because people actually don’t know if we’re together or we’re not,” he told Us Weekly.
“Yeah it’s kind of good sometimes to be that mystery where we’re just like, ‘Huh.’ It’s kind of, like, out of the spotlight a little bit,” Morton added. “We just took a break from it after Paradise ’cause it was very intense and we don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone, which has been nice.”
