Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will directly proceed the Disney+ series WandaVision. As a result, many have jumped to the logical presumption that the I Love Lucy-esque program will loosely follow the narrative set forth in The House of M. In this comic book series, Wanda cannot cope with her reality, and she creates an alternate world in which she and Vision live happily ever after with two children. The show will feel like a ‘50s sitcom meets a big-budget action spectacle.
Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will appear alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, as multiple outlets have already confirmed. However, rumor has it that she won’t be the only Avenger joining the party in the second Strange installments. Many others may be jumping into the madness. Below, you will find the other Avengers who might just appear in Doctor Strange 2.
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki may be receiving his own Disney+ series, yet that doesn’t mean his character is gone from the silver screen for good. While Loki is dead in the current MCU timeline, Doctor Strange 2 has the word multiverse in its title; meaning, a batch of alternate worlds may come to fruition. And, according to recent theories, one of these worlds includes the god of mischief.
According to We Got This Covered — receiving information from sources close to the story surrounding Jeremy Renner’s future as Hawkeye — Loki may be set to appear in the second Doctor Strange movie.
With the multiverse at our disposal, as well as reports indicating that the Disney+ series will show Loki making his way out of his current timeline and into the present one, such an appearance is possible. Not to mention, Loki will premiere slightly before Doctor Strange 2, which may not be accidental.
The same sources who told We Got This Covered that Wiccan will debut in WandaVision and that the Inhumans will be rebooted in Ms. Marvel have informed the outlet that Vision will return in Doctor Strange 2.
According to the publication’s sources, nothing is set in stone concerning Vision’s appearance in the film; however, if he does show up, he will have a role in one of the alternate realities. Supposedly, his character would not come back to life in the main timeline.
If you’re thinking about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and the recent negotiation between Disney and Sony, you may be starting from the wrong baseline. While Tom Holland’s Parker is set to appear in another Spidey installment and an additional MCU film, all signs point towards Captain Marvel or the Fantastic Four as the “additional film.” However, could Tobey Maguire’s Spidey appear in the MCU? While this sounds far-fetched, you may want to hear out the theory.
MovieWeb reported that Doctor Strange 2 may reintroduce Maguire’s Spider-Man, and bring the character into the MCU. An Easter Egg, in Spider-Man two, sparked the rumor.
J. Jonah Jameson once said the name Doctor Strange was taken when his editorial team was trying to come up with a name for Doctor Octopus. Could this subtle allusion become extreme narrative continuity in the multiverse? Multiple outlets have already reported that the other Spider-Man actors may make their way into the MCU for cameos. All remains to be seen.
