Abi's fate confirmed after shooting in Corrie – is she dead?

Abi Franklin’s (Sally Carman) life is on the line in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, as she sets out for revenge on murderer Corey Brent (Maximus Evans).

The grieving mum was heartbroken when Corey was found not guilty of murdering Seb (Harry Visinoni) and – in the aftermath of the verdict – she decided to seek her very own brand of justice.

After a number of weeks laying low, she returned to the eponymous street on a mission, desperate to see her plan through to the bitter end.

‘[Abi’s mind] is very much set on one thing: revenge on Corey,’ actress Sally Carman told Metro.co.uk. ‘She is not thinking straight, she is in a really dark and unique place.’

Corey, meanwhile, has went from strength to strength in the weeks following the trial, playing in several games for Weathy County, and scoring goals aplenty.

His success has left the likes of Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) fuming. Abi has a similar reaction to the killer’s ‘achievements’, and it’s ultimately this that motivates her to seek revenge.

‘That’s the fuel,’ said Sally. ‘she absolutely loves Kev and Jack but the moments of seeing Corey that overrides that. It’s all about Seb.

‘There were so many times she wasn’t there for him and she thinks this is the only way to get justice for Seb. She is not thinking straight in how she does it.’

Abi will get her hands on a gun, and subsequent scenes will see her confront Corey in a heated showdown with the firearm.

But there’s more tragedy to come, as the confrontation takes place in the middle of a storm, and both characters end up in the sewers beneath the street.

It’s at this point, Corey gets his hands on the gun!

‘I think we could [see Abi’s life in danger]!,’ continued Sally. ‘There’s not enough drama with the gun so let’s add a few more elements! Filming all of that, what I have seen is just fantastic. What’s coming up is so exciting.’

Will Abi die at Corey’s hands? All will be revealed.
