DUSTIN POIRIER'S coaches are confident the American will register a second successive knockout victory in his trilogy fight with Conor McGregor.
The former interim lightweight champion will renew his rivalry with the MMA superstar tomorrow morning in the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas.
Poirier, 32, shocked the world in January by knocking out McGregor in their Abu Dhabi rematch,a feat his coaches Mike Brown and Dyah Davis are confident he'll repeat in their rubber match.
American Top Team coach Brown told SunSport: "I think Dustin stops him, honestly.
"I don't know when and where, but I think he ends up getting the finish at some point in those 25 minutes."
Davis – the son of boxing great Howard Davis Jr – said: "Initially, I said he would stop Conor in the third round.
"But dude, he's looking so good right now, man. If Conor gets out of this first, maybe a second-round stoppage.
"But definitely we come out victorious in the third fight, in the trilogy. No doubt about it."

Poirier, 32, has grown immensely in the years that followed his first-round KO loss to McGregor at UFC 178.
And Brown attributes the American's recent success inside and outside of the octagon to his improved mental fortitude.
He said: "It's hard to say because everything is improving. His mental game, his ability as he would put it, 'Not give a f**k anymore.' That's helped him quite a bit.
"Obviously, his boxing is his best skill set, he works with Dyah Davis quite a bit, all the time.
"He's always fine-tuning that [and] his wrestling and his jiu-jitsu. Everything is improving.
"He's a well-rounded mixed martial arts fighter and everything is getting better all the time.
"So it's hard to pinpoint one thing. But I think his mindset and his overall MMA skillset."
Poirier's star reached new heights after his demolition of the UFC's poster boy, which saw him further gain the respect of the notoriously difficult to please fanbase.
Davis said: "I think he's always gotten the respect that he deserves.
"But because of the magnitude of the fight, it put the fight on a bigger scale so to speak.
"So yes, he's getting everything he should've gotten years ago."
Poirier – who has beaten five former world champions in his last seven outings – has shown significant growth as a mixed martial artist with each passing fight.
But Davis believes fight fans have yet to see the most polished version of The Diamond.
The Boca Boxing District owner said: "I think he's only getting better.
"I think the best is still yet to come. I think people will get a taste of what he's really, really capable of come July 10."
