In some fans’ eyes, the Kings of Leon ruined the 2021 NFL Draft — before it even started.
The Grammy Award-winning band took the main stage for Thursday’s draft in Cleveland and its performance ended up delaying the first pick, which saw Trevor Lawrence land with the Jacksonville Jaguars, by nearly 20 minutes.
Others complained the songs were “outdated,” including the band’s 2018 hit, “Use Somebody.”
One user wrote, “I love Kings of Leon. One of my favorite bands. I have no interest in them playing prior to the NFL draft.”
Other performers who will take the main stage at the NFL Draft experience in Cleveland include the Black Pumas, performing on 11 p.m. Friday, and Machine Gun Kelly, who will close out the weekend’s festivities on 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
