Mark Wright plays match for Crawley Town as talk of former I'm A Celebrity star returning to pro football continues

MARK WRIGHT keeps doing his worst to dampen talk he could turn professional as the I'm a Celebrity star turned out for Crawley Town.

The TV presenter, 33, "loved every minute" getting stuck in for the League Two side against Championship leaders Reading in a friendly on Tuesday.

Wright raved about the "amazing opportunity" Crawley have given him to boost his fitness but insists the likelihood of him signing are "far fetched".

After starting with Southend United, he played part-time, non-League football until focusing on reality show I'm a Celeb in 2011, where he finished runner-up and quickly became a showbiz name in his own right.

Yet the Heart Radio host, who married Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan five years ago, admits football has remained his biggest love.

And having trained with Crawley since pre-season, as well as appearing in exhibition matches, he relished playing against the Royals.

The Crawley and Horley Observer report him as saying: "It was good, I enjoyed it. Bit of fitness… It was a good day.

"There was a lot of encouragement from the line… experienced pros like that.. all talking to me, so I just felt I fitted in.

"It was for fitness mainly, and I loved every minute of it."

He proudly posted a picture of his "Wright 30" Crawley shirt on Instagram.

And he is "really enjoying" training with the Sussex full-timers.

Wright added: "I love being around the lads and being around football every day.

"That’s the one thing I miss. To have this opportunity is amazing."
