Ross Barkley was kicked out of a bar in a central London hotel after a drunken row with diners and staff, according to reports.

The Sun claim the 27-year-old Chelsea midfielder – currently on loan at Aston Villa –  had been spending Thursday evening with a friend in The May Fair Hotel in central London, before the row erupted.

He was shown the exit door at 8pm and stumbled towards it having flailed his arms towards a customer’s face, the report adds, while also stating one witness said he could barely stand and was slurring his words.

He reportedly briefly left with his friend but then returned to the bar frequented by around 100 people on the evening and once again had to be told to leave by hotel security.

Sportsmail have approached Villa, his parent club Chelsea and the England star’s representatives for comment.

Once he had made his way outside, the report claims Barkley appeared unable to stand upright and required support to do so.

There are also claims included in the report that his bright pink underwear were on display when he leaned over at a particular moment.

One witness reportedly said the on-loan Aston Villa midfielder could barely stand and was slurring his words

A source told The Sun: ‘Ross Barkley was wasted. I first spotted him arguing with someone before it really kicked off. Ross was politely told to leave. But they came back, stumbling around packed tables and really slurring.

‘Then the security staff spotted him and they were escorted into the main foyer. It got heated. They were arguing. It almost got physical, with the bouncer just pushing them out of the way.

‘Some taxis then refused to take him because he was so p*. It was embarrassing.

‘It was shocking that a professional sportsman and England star could behave in this way in public. Young fans look up to players like him, and it’s really not on to behave in such a disgraceful way.’

Barkley joined Villa on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea in last summer’s transfer window

The events that played out on Thursday evening came just 24 hours after he was an unused substitute in Villa’s 2-1 win at Tottenham.

Barkley – who earns around £100,000-per-week – joined the west Midlands club on a season-long loan from Chelsea in September, and has made 24 Premier League appearances for Dean Smith’s men this term, scoring once.

Barkley joined the Stamford Bridge club in 2018 in a £15million move from Everton, and has represented England on 33 occasions.

Villa however face Champions League-chasing Chelsea on the final day of the season, a game Barkley is ineligible for due to the terms of his loan agreement, meaning he has potentially played his last game for Smith’s men.

Barkley – who joined Chelsea from Everton in 2018 – also has 33 England caps to his name
