CONOR McGREGOR should have a 'tune-up fight' against Nate Diaz before mixing it up with Dustin Poirier for the fourth time.
That is according to British UFC legend Michael Bisping, who claims McGregor needs to 'blow off that ring rust' after breaking his leg.
The Notorious suffered a combined break of the tibula and fibula at the end of the first round of his trilogy fight against Poirer in July and is still recovering after surgery.
Thus, Bisping has advised the Irishman against jumping straight back into the Octagon to lock horns with Poirier.
Instead the 42-year-old MMA legend believes McGregor should complete his trilogy with Diaz first.
Bisping said on the Believe You Me podcast: "Hopefully, we see that fight.
"I’m not sure if he wants to come back, Conor I’m talking about, after what’s probably going to be about a year’s lay-off and fighting Dustin for the third time.
"You kind of want to get your whistle wet. Find your mojo, blow off that ring rust.

"Nate would be the guy. Then, if Conor beats Nate, then he fights Dustin, because, you know, they are going to do a fourth fight.
"The fourth fight will be absolutely massive, but I think if I was Conor’s manager, if I was advising him, I would say "take a tune-up fight", you know what I mean?"
Diaz handed McGregor his first ever professional defeat back in 2016 with a choke submission victory.
But the Irish superstar got his revenge with a decision win over the American later in the year.
