MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly set to battle it out with Chelsea in the race to sign Dinamo Zagreb starlet Antonio Marin.
The 18-year-old has been heralded as one of Croatia's most exciting prospects, with the winger already featuring in four league games for the senior side this season.
Marin – who has been capped at youth level for Croatia from the U15s to U21s – is tied down with Zagreb until 2024.
He starred against City in the Uefa Youth League last week where he registered an assist in the 2-2 draw at the Academy Stadium.
And his performances have caught the eye of a number of clubs as they look to land the teenager.
According to Sky Sports, City are keeping tabs on the player as they weigh up a move for Marin.
But they face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, as well as La Liga outfit Villarreal, who are also monitoring his situation.
Italian outfit Calciomercato first linked Marin with a switch to City in March.
They stated that Zagreb would be willing to sell their prized asset should they receive a fee in the region of £13million.
Along with City, they claimed that the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Ajax were also keen to secure his services.
Marin made his first team debut for Zagreb on May 19, 2018, but he is still waiting for his first senior goal.
