Anthony Neuer made Professional Bowlers Association Tour history Sunday by picking up the rare 7-10 split in his U.S. Open semifinal matchup.
The 18-year-old became just the fourth player to accomplish the feat during a PBA Tour TV broadcast, and the first to do it on the air since 1991.
The "Ginger Assassin," as Fox Sports play-by-play announcer Rob Stone called him, knocked both pins down to convert the 7-10 in the seventh frame of his match with Jakob Butturff at National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada.
Though Neuer – whose father, Andy Neuer, won a PBA Tour title in 1994 – made history with the event's top highlight, the 26-year-old Butturff would defeat him, 257-203.
