For moisturising:

Beauty Kitchen Abyssinian Oil Quick Fix Moisture Mask

What: A super-quick skin fix, this only needs to be left of for five minutes to improve the skin's radiance and hydration. Abyssinian oil give skin an instant moisture boost, and it has a spa-like fragrance of rose and magnolia.

Tester says: "This looks like a thick cream, but actually feels lovely and lightweight on the skin – I didn't feel like it was smothering my skin or clogging pores in the slightest. After removing it my skin felt really soft and smooth, and I swear it looked slightly more even in tone, too. I love that this only needs to be left of for five minutes to get to work – I'd even use it in the mornings if my skin was feeling like it needed a little extra hydration."

You'll find a full-size jar of this mask – worth £12.50 – in this month's OK! Beauty Edit box, along with a Beauty Kitchen Konjac Sponge to create a complete at-home facial experience. You'll also get four other gorgeous pampering beauty treats, a discount for luxurious silk lifestyle brand For Love n Luxe, and a copy of OK! Magazine – perfect for giving yourself a moment of "me-time". You can get your hands on this box for as little as £16.50*.

For brightening:

Tired Faace Mask, buy it here for £22.50

What? A mask for "skin disrupted by life" – which seems pretty apt right now. It has caffeine, brightening vitamin C and lactic acid for gentle exfoliation

Tester says: "Smells seriously zingy, like freshly squeezed orange juice. It’s quite a thin, gel-like texture, and it didn’t feel remotely moisturising as it sat on my skin. I wasn’t expecting anything when I wiped it off so I was surprised to see what I can only describe as ‘glass skin’: that glossy, Korean beauty trend you see all over Instagram. I think 20-somethings will love this. It wasn’t bad on 40-something me either."

For damage repair:

Beauty Pie Japanfusion Bio-Ceramide Moisture Mask, buy it here for £12.26

  • Everything you need to know about konjac sponges as Holly Willoughby ditches face wipes in favour of one

  • Treating your scalp more like your complexion could stop thinning lengths and sluggish hair growth – here’s how to tend to it better

What? This antioxidant-laden mask promises to be a clean-up crew for dry or sun-damaged skin. Think yuzu ceramides to boost skin barrier, vitamin C to target pigmentation, a wrinkle-fighting yeast derivative and vegetable squalane to moisture bomb your face.

Tester says: "This feels lightweight and moisturising but not pore clogging. My skin felt nicely revived and hydrated afterwards. This is a great moisturising mask for all skin types (although I can’t see how it could possibly be worth the ‘non member’ £100 price tag!)."

For soothing:

Simple Ultra Calming Sheet Mask with Hemp Seed Oil, buy it here for £2.99

What? A weekly fix of hemp seed chillaxing for skin that’s stressed out. This mild-mannered mask is fragrance free and claims to replenish 16 days worth of moisturiser in a single use.

Tester says: "My skin reacts easily to retinol and acids, and I found this was a really good one to use when it needed to be instantly calmed down. The sheet isn’t the neatest fit but it’s a good option if your skin needs quick relief. It gets bonus points for being biodegradable."

For plumping:

Garnier Nutri Bomb Milky Tissue Mask Almond Milk & Hyaluronic Acid, buy it here for £2.99

This mask contains a milky serum enriched with moisturising and plumping hyaluronic acid.

Tester says: "The mask sits a bit wrinkly on the face but it doesn’t drip or slip. The result was not so much a drink of water for the skin as a big glass of full-fat milk. My skin looked really plump, hydrated and soft with an instant glow, and areas of dry skin had disappeared."

For exfoliating:

Luneia Radiance Ritual Mask, buy it here for £40

What? This once-a-week mask is a potent mix of glycolic and salicylic acids to exfoliate and hydrate your skin, for a mini facial effect.

Tester says: "This left my skin looking smoother than it has in weeks and any blemishes I had were definitely more faded. It does make skin look instantly brighter too. Just make sure you stick to the 10 minute limit, as it’s an intensive formula."

For anti-ageing:

Nivea Q10 Power Sleeping Melt-In-Mask, buy it here for £10.99

What? Is it a mask? Is it a night cream? Well, kind of both. This concentrated dose of anti-ageing CoQ10 is designed to be slathered on as a thick layer, then massaged in and left overnight 2-3 times a week.

Tester says: "I really liked this from the very first night I used it. It was very nourishing and I thought I looked like I’d had a better night’s sleep than I had. By the time I’d used up the pot (it lasted over a month) I thought my skin looked smoother and less lined."
