Loyalty cards can be a great way to get more from your money when shopping in stores. Sainsbury’s shoppers can sign up for a Nectar card which allows them to collect points.
Those visiting the supermarket chain are now able to earn bonus points.
How to get the offer
Customers could get extra points by using SmartShop when visiting stores.
Smartshop is a way for Britons to pick up their groceries with as little contact as possible.
Shoppers simply scan, bag and pay for their shopping by using an app, with no need to upload and pack groceries at the checkout.
To get the deal, customers can pick up a Nectar points coupon from colleagues at the front of the store.
When they have completed their shopping, they can redeem the offer at the till points.
This coupon gives five times the number of Nectar points for one shop per account.
Those benefiting from the scheme need to spend a minimum of £15 for the discount to be applied.
The bonus points will be added to accounts within 48 hours of the purchase being made.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson commented: “We’re continuing to look at new ways to reward our customers in the run up to Christmas.
“This offer will enable customers to kick-start their Christmas shop in a safer way, using SmartShop to earn extra points on their festive essentials.”
How does a Nectar card work?
Britons can collect points on their Nectar card when shopping in stores.
Nectar works with more than 400 partner brands including ASOS, Argos and eBay.
If shopping in Sainsbury’s, people can earn points on their weekly shop.
For every pound spent in stores, cardholders will earn one Nectar point.
Every 500 points collected is worth £2.50 and the points can be used like money in Sainsbury’s store.
Or, customers can swap the points for discounts on some of its partner brands.
Points can also be exchanged for perks including days out and holidays.
