A rough sleeper was completely transformed thanks to a simple haircut – even sparking comparisons to a Hollywood actor.

Joshua Santiago has racked up more than 200,000 followers on his TikTok, @empoweringcuts, thanks to his random acts of kindness to homeless people.

The barber often offers free haircuts to those on the streets and films their dramatic transformations.

One of his most popular recent clips begins with a rough sleeper sitting on the barbers stool before getting at rim.

While his hair is relatively short, it clearly has not been cut for some time and looks unkempt.

He also has facial hair which also seems to not have been attended to for a while.

Joshua immediately goes about trimming down the hair with a razor to what looks like a number 1 cut all over.

The barber then shaves off the beard before revealing the finished article.

The scraggly hair is nowhere to be seen – replaced instead by a close-cut trim that accentuates the man’s facial features.

More than 260,000 people have seen the video since it was posted in July with the caption: “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about, be kind.”

And viewers were left astounded by the transformation.

“Whole new man,” one wrote. Another commented: “You look like Christian Bale.”

“What beautiful eyes he has,” someone else said. “I wish him well and you. Lovely person for helping these gents.”

A fourth wrote: “Omg, he looks amazing.”

While another viewer gushed: “He’s so handsome.”

It comes after a balding bus driver was left in tears after seeing the results of his hair replacement.

Adam Sinclair, 29, started losing his hair when he was 19 years old and had resorted to wearing hats to hide it while on the job.

People often thought he was well into his 40s but, after the procedure, many claimed had taken years off his real age.

Adam, from Forest Gate, East London, said: "It was such a strange sensation to hear scissors around my ears, then when the blindfold came off the shock was unbelievable. I could barely speak.

"I didn't recognise myself at first, but when I did, I liked what I saw. It was the first time in years I liked what I saw. That was the overwhelming thing. I teared up a lot.”

He admitted it was “hard to hear” people’s predictions about his age but now says girls are flooding his DMs after the video racked up more than 2.1 million views.
