Jessie Cave’s newborn son, Abraham, tested positive for COVID-19 at nearly 3 months old and is in the hospital.
The “Harry Potter” actress, known for playing Lavender Brown, shared on Instagram on Tuesday that her baby is “okay and doing well” but they are “being vigilant and cautious.”
“This strain is super powerful and contagious so I do hope that people take extra care in the coming weeks,” the 33-year-old cautioned alongside a photo of Abraham in his hospital bed as she watched UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson address the latest lockdowns.
Cave admitted that she “didn’t want to be back in a hospital so soon” after experiencing a “traumatic” birth with Abraham.
The newborn, who is the actress’ third child with comedian Alfie Brown, was born in October and immediately admitted into the neonatal unit.
The baby had been released and spent some time at home with Cave, Brown, and their other children, 5-year-old Donnie and 3-year-old Margot, before contracting coronavirus.
It is unknown whether other members of the family also tested positive for COVID-19.
