Hindsight is always 20/20.
Dorinda Medley admitted on Thursday night’s reunion episode of “The Real Housewives of New York” that she should have taken the season off to focus on herself.
“I think that I was more overwhelmed this season than I’ve ever been,” Medley said. “I don’t think I reached out for help enough.
She said between her house flooding, splitting from boyfriend John Mahdessian, breaking a rib and her dog, Lucy, dying, “I couldn’t catch a break.”
“I just didn’t want to be there,” she continued, “I was angry. I was really angry about what was happening. I definitely projected it.”
Medley, 55, went on to say she just couldn’t cope with everything that was happening. She then told co-star Ramona Singer that she felt like she made it all worse.
“You never called me once outside the show,” she said. “You never took me to dinner. All you did was remind me the whole time. As much as you didn’t like John, it was my [relationship] to go through.”
While Medley and Singer, 63, worked out their issues by the end of the reunion, it wasn’t enough to save Medley’s apple.
The reality star was let go from the show in August, with Andy Cohen revealing that he thought that she needed a “pause” from the cameras.
“She said something at the reunion that struck us all, which was that she should’ve taken the year off this year,” he said earlier this month. “She was in a bad place.”
However, he’s open to seeing her on the show again.
“I am really hopeful that this is indeed a pause, and that she will rejoin the show at some point,” he confessed. “I have said that to her a couple of times, and by the way, I do not say that too often.”
