A mother has revealed how strangers regularly stop her in the street to point out her baby daughter’s uncanny resemblance to Boris Johnson – thanks to her unruly mop of blonde hair.
Bethany Jeeves, 22, from March, Cambridgeshire, was stunned when five-month-old Lottie Craigie was born with a shock of long, thick silvery hair that midwives admired while she was in hospital.
Since then little Lottie’s hair has taken on a life of its own and regardless of what her mother does to it – including wetting, washing and brushing it – it sticks up in the air.

Lottie Craigie from March, Cambridgeshire, was born with a shock of long, thick silvery blonde hair that midwives admired while she was in hospital
This unruly mop of blonde hair causes Bethany to be stopped every time she leaves the house with admiring passers-by flocking round her pram commenting on how Lottie’s do is just like the PM’s.
Bar worker Bethany, who is currently on maternity leave, said she was initially taken aback when her GP was the first to make the comparison during one of Lottie’s check-ups, but concedes she’s now used to it.
Even Lottie’s big sister, two-year-old Mia Craigie is getting in on the act, telling everyone she meets ‘my sister looks like Boris Johnson’.
Bethany said: ‘I can’t even leave the house without someone stopping me in the street, commenting on her hair and saying she looks like a mini Boris.
Now at five months old, the unruly blonde mop has taken on a life of its own sticking up in the air and causing strangers to compere the tot to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson
Even her older sister Mia, two, (pictured left with her mother and baby sister) proudly tells everyone she meets: ‘My sister looks like Boris Johnson’
‘I think it’s because her hair is so blonde, it’s so light, and it’s crazy – it goes wherever it wants.
‘Babies normally lose some hair, but it just got thicker and longer. That’s when it started to stick up and the “Baby Boris” comments started.
‘I didn’t know what to do with her hair at first. I’d wet it, wash it, brush it and it would still stick up in the air.
‘It was getting longer and longer and it would just stick up, it was getting to the point I was having to spend more time on her hair than my own.
‘The first person that made the Boris Johnson comparison was the GP when I took her in for her check-up.
Lottie’s mum Bethany Jeeves, 22, from Cambridgeshire, had her suspicions her baby was going to have a good head of hair when she experienced severe heartburn during pregnancy
However, the bar worker and mother-of-two was stunned when her daughter Lottie (pictured as a newborn) was born in February 2021 with long, thick hair
‘When he made the comment I sat there like ‘oh, ok’. As she’s a girl I was a bit touchy but it was meant in a light-hearted way.
‘The more and more people started saying it you get used to it so now I just reply ‘yeah I know’.
‘Even my two-year-old caught on to what everyone else was saying, now she tells everyone ‘my sister looks like Boris Johnson’.’
The mum-of-two said she first had her suspicions that Lottie was going to have a good head of hair when she started experiencing severe heartburn during her pregnancy.
Bethany said: ‘Her hair didn’t show up on any ultrasounds but I had constant severe heartburn and was on medication from the doctors, it was awful.

Regardless of what her mother does to it – including wetting, washing and brushing it – Lottie’s luscious locks stick up in the hair and have grown longer and blonder since birth
‘Everyone made jokes about how hairy she was going to be.’
In February Lottie was born weighing 8lb 2oz and with a shock of silvery blonde hair.
Bethany said: ‘When she was first born her hair was long, thick and almost silver.
‘All the midwives were coming to see because they couldn’t believe her hair – the colour and that she had lots of it. They said they’d never seen a baby with hair like that. As it changed colour it got blonder and longer and longer.’
Bethany said Lottie looks older than her tender age due to her luscious locks, and that she has more hair than many toddlers.
Bethany said: ‘Her hair is well past her neck so I’m able to put her hair in little ponytails and pigtails now.
Her mother says she doesn’t think her daughter looks like Boris Johnson but admits she can understand why people make the comparison. Pictured: Sisters Mia and Lottie
‘Because the top bit is so long, the pigtails are long so she looks older because she has so much hair.
‘I’ve got friends who have children that are about two and her hair is probably longer than theirs.
‘Lottie’s hair is crazy and it’s so blonde, in the light her hair is almost white.
‘Obviously I don’t think she looks like Boris because she’s my daughter, but I do get why people make the comparison, it doesn’t faze me anymore.
‘I wouldn’t change anything about her hair for the world.’
